HTF Pro Heat Transfer Fluid by Douglas ProTech
HTF Pro by Douglas ProTech is a heat transfer fluid containing inhibited propylene glycol with corrosion inhibitors. This non-toxic formulation has a 3% inhibitor solution to provide additional protection against corrosion of steel, copper and aluminum during long term use in closed systems, delivering dependable protection and performance.
HTF Pro contains 100% propylene glycol and should be diluted with deionized water, with the dilution rate to be determined by the customer’s specific application requirements. A leak detection dye option (in red, blue or UV) can be optionally added to HTF Pro at no additional cost. HTF Pro is NSF Certified (National Sanitation Foundation) for HT1 ‘incidental food contact’ and HT2 ‘nonfood contact’ food applications.

FAQs - Commercial Thermal Fluids
Why should an inhibitor be added to glycol?
The liquid and powder forms are equally effective. The powder is less dense than the liquid, so it’s lighter in weight and easier and cheaper to ship and carry.
What's the benefit of adding a leak detection dye to glycol?
No, we package them in a rugged, trilaminate foil package that’s hermetically sealed. This provides several advantages compared to the toss ins with a delicate membrane: Inca Gold in the foil packets has a virtually infinite shelf life, they won’t melt in sunlight and stain surfaces, they won’t break open if they get wet, and they can safely be carried in a shirt pocket to treat the toilet on the road.
The toss-in variety of other brands do not start working until they breakdown which can take some time and our product starts working immediately and there is no build up of the membrane to clog your system.
Is Douglas ProTech's propylene glycol food grade?
Our HTF Pro is NSF Certified (National Sanitation Foundation) for HT1 ‘incidental food contact’ and HT2 ‘nonfood contact’ food applications, making it approved for use where incidental food contact may occur with the process water.
Do Douglas ProTech thermal fluids contain PFAS?
Our glycol-based thermal fluid formulations are Generally Regarded as Safe (GRAS) and do NOT contain per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS), or “forever chemicals” – persistent pollutants that can accumulate in the environment and human bodies, raising concerns about potential health and environmental risks. Douglas ProTech’s thermal fluid formulations are non-toxic, non-flammable, and readily biodegradable, and thus a safer option that can be used in many applications.
